Bagel Chicks
A Legacy of Craft, Community, and Four Generations of Baking
The roots of Bagel Chicks Bakery stretch back nearly a century, beginning in 1932 when Sam Costantino arrived in New York City from Sicily, Italy.
Inspired by the promise of opportunity as he passed the Statue of Liberty, Sam built his American dream from the ground up — starting with flour, water, and a small family bakery in New York.

History made daily, one bagel at a time.
As the region evolved,
so did the bakery.
Jackie and Kat remain committed to honoring the past while building for the future. Bagel Chicks Bakery is not just a rebrand — it’s a continuation of a deeply rooted story. With nearly 100 years of family tradition behind them, they’re shaping what the next century of baking looks like in West Virginia.

A message to the owners, don’t over stretch your menu. Quality goes down when this happens. We’d rather a small menu that’s perfect rather than tons of items that are only subpar. Definitely a place we recommend to try even if only for the bagels!!!!
However, there are a couple of areas that could use some improvement. We ordered a mocha frappe, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. It tasted more like chocolate milk—completely melted and not blended at all. For a specialty drink, it just didn’t hit the mark.
Additionally, the ordering process could use a bit more structure. From bagels to pastries to drinks, it wasn’t clear who was handling what, and with multiple staff members behind the counter, it caused some confusion and delays. A bit more coordination and clear roles could streamline the ordering process to help with a faster checkout.
We will be returning often.

Bagel Chicks Bakery
New York style bagels, pastries, and sandwiches, served with a bagel chix smile right here in Ranson, WV
✨ We’ve been getting lots of questions—and we love the excitement! ✨
We’re excited to share an update on our Purcellville (Loudoun County) and Martinsburg (Berkeley County) locations. Our projected opening is March, and we’re currently working through the final county permitting steps to get everything across the finish line.
We’re eager to be part of these communities and can’t wait to start serving fresh bagels and schmears to everyone who’s been asking. We appreciate the continued support and cooperation from both counties and are looking forward to a smooth, timely completion of the process.
We’re getting closer every day—thank you for your patience and enthusiasm. 🥯✨ ... See MoreSee Less
